The 3 Rumors Google Pixel: Everything You Need to Know

Google has been interested in the smartphone market in recent years, but the company still has no serious challenge for Samsung or Apple. This could change with Pixel 3.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have become head-first with their first-generation cameras and easy access to Google Assistant. In fact, Pixel 2 is our most qualified smartphone camera in general. However, especially the Pixel 2 XL suffered during the boot window and beyond under various quality control and error problems.

In the past, Google relied on third-party vendors to help them realize their smartphones. After the takeover of the HTC smartphone devices last year, Google now has its own hardware department. And Google Pixel 3, which will launch later in 2018, will be the first high-end phone from this marriage.

For now, Google has stayed away from its plans for Pixel 3. But that did not stop the speculation and the first reports. Here we look at all the rumors surrounding Google Pixel 3.

Design: a notch for the XL
Almost everything we know about Pixel 3 Design comes from two sources: a recent Bloomberg report that familiarizes people familiar with Google and smartphone packages with a photo of a prototype that came to light in XDA developers in June.

According to Bloomberg, the larger Pixel 3 XL will include a notch and edge-to-edge design, while Pixel 3 will not. According to reports, this notch will be narrower, but higher than the iPhone X. It will also allow the XL to have stereo speakers, as well as the smallest model and every pixel to date. The two third-generation devices will have two forward-facing cameras, but only one lens on the back, according to Bloomberg.

Bloomberg's detailed report coincides with something caused in May by a pair of screensavers that had fled from Weibo and SlashLeaks. These panels can illustrate the difference in the appearance of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google would opt for this path, it would follow the example of the Pixel 2 series, in which the two devices despite virtually identical internal hardware radically different designs had.

The likelihood that Pixel 3 reaches a score has received new attention after the release of a new beta version of the developer for Android P. As discovered by the Android Police, the next Google OS records the status bar for a maximum of four notifications; Meanwhile, the clock changes to the left corner of the status bar, leaving a crank-sized space in the middle.

Wireless loading: one pixel first
The new code in the latest beta of Android P describes, according to XDADevelopers, a function that could relate to wireless charging. The report mentions a service called "Dreamliner" that is not linked to an existing Android package from Google and often appears with battery changes in the beta software.

This proposal, as well as the photos released earlier this week from a 3 XL pixel with a material that resembles glass rather than metal, fueled speculation that Google's next flagship will support wireless charging. According to the report, Google is currently testing the "Dreamliner" service internally, so it's probably not the last time we've seen it.

Release date and availability
According to Bloomberg, Google is targeting an October version of Pixel 3. Again, Verizon is considered the exclusive operator of the phones, although probably the unlocked models will be available again.

Google also announced in March that Google also plans to launch in October. If that's true, this strategy would be consistent with the story. Last year, Google launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on October 19th. The launch window gave Google good protection from the September versions of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Possible third pixels in the works
According to a Droid Life report, Google is working on three new Pixel devices this year. The devices that were discovered during a leak source code last year are codenamed "crosshatching", "bluefin tuna" and "blueline".

Two of the phones are considered "high-end" devices, and the third will fall into the "high-end" category, a source at Droid-Life said. However, it is currently not clear what the difference is and what it could mean for features.

At least what we know is that the Pixel brand will continue. A Google employee working on the Android open source project recently named the device "Pixel 3" in a change registry as part of the operating system. The mention was discovered by XDA Developers and refers to improvements in cellular connectivity for the new model. It is unclear whether the changes reflect, in particular, all the variations of Pixel 3 that are prevalent, the Premium option, or the most cost-effective option.

The range of pixels has historically been iconic models competing as the Samsung S models have been rated by Samsung and Apple iPhones, but the rumors of why Google is working for the emerging markets on an affordable option.

Pixel 3 could be cheaper marketed as part of the Android One of the company's initiative, which guarantees Android market experience and two years of software updates ready to use. According to Economic Times, based in India, the device could be introduced in India in July or August. It's not clear what the device will look like or whether Google also wants to launch a cheaper device in the US. UU

Software: Android P inside

The new OS Android OS will ship this fall with the new Pixel phones but is already available as part of a beta version on multiple phones. Highlights include new energy-saving features and digital wellness features that give you a more complete idea of how you can use them to be present in the real world.

But the biggest updates have to do with the interface. Android P supports gestures with the new Start button. In the same way, as on the iPhone X, you can see your finger slide up from the bottom of the screen to see open applications, but you'll also see the Google search bar and the most used apps in the same view. Swipe again and you will see the application menu with a trick. New predictive actions provide useful shortcuts, such as navigating through Google Maps or calling a favorite contact.

Camera: a double lens on the front
The Bloomberg report points to two camera lenses for selfies in both Pixel 3 models, while the rear lens remains unique. That's all we know about Pixel 3 cameras, but it would be reasonable to expect improvements.

In recent years, almost all high-end smartphone makers have decided to market their devices for their camera capabilities. The difference in the case of Pixel is that Google has the game to support those high demands

Performance: Snapdragon 845 on board
It's perhaps not surprising that Google is considering adding the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 to its next-generation phone. The chip should reach most high-end handsets this year.

What we do not know is the amount of RAM or memory that Google will provide. Current Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL come with 4GB of RAM and a 64GB storage option and 128GB. But we want to get the XL Pixel 3 up to 6 GB of RAM standard, as the Samsung has done with the Galaxy S9 +.
