Android Users Can Text From Their PCs and Macs from Now on

Android news for the web is finally here. Google begins with the app's desktop browser support, which allows Android users to send text messages (as well as stickers and pictures) from their computers, whether they're on PCs or Macs.

Google product manager Sanaz Ahri wrote in a blog post that "Messages for Web" is one of Google's "Most Wanted Features."

"With Android Messaging, we create a messaging experience that's available on multiple devices, and with Google AI you can share what you want to share and just want to be in your messages," Ahari wrote.

Open the Android Messages website on your desktop to start sending text messages to your computer. A QR code will appear on your screen.

Then open the News app on your mobile device. Choose "News for the Web" from the "More Options" menu.

Then you can use your phone to scan the QR code on your computer screen. Bingo, now you can send text messages! (Theoretically, it has not been extended for all users yet).

You can also switch between "Remember this computer" on the website if you do not want to repeat the process.

GIF, intelligent answers and more
With the news for the web being implemented today, more long-awaited features will come together in the coming weeks. If you press the + button to the left of your text box in a conversation, you can browse a new GIF library and select one to send.

Smart Reply is also on the way to the news. This means that messages like the Gmail app recommend answers so you can send your conversations. If you're in a hurry, you just have to touch the answer you want to send immediately.

Soon you will also see some preview links in conversations, as you are doing now when someone sends you a link via Facebook Messenger.

Finally, you can copy the verification codes with a key, which simplifies two-factor authentication. If you receive a verification code through Messaging, you can tap the notification to immediately copy the code.
