There is no better way to show that you have an iPhone X (and not your friends) than by sending Animoji messages to them. Of course, Animoji is more than a way to create the efficient use of energy from your iPhone: it is also a way for users of the iPhone X to add more momentum to conversations in messages.
Animoji is a new application that lets you send animated pictures of 12 characters of emoji. The smart thing is that with the iPhone X face recognition software, the facial expressions of the animated emoji characters are the same as yours. You become emoji!
How to use Animoji on the iPhone X.
Open News and tap on the Animoji app
The only place to do Animoji is in the news application. Run messages, then look at the text entry box at the bottom of the screen. If the keyboard is currently displayed, touch the application icon immediately to the left of the text entry box.
If the keyboard is not visible, you should see a small set of application icons at the bottom of the screen. Find your messaging apps, including sticker packs (included with iOS 10), music, digital touch, and more. The animoji icon is the face of a monkey. Tap here to access the Animoji app.
Choose your character
On the left side of the Animoji app, you will find a drop-down list of all available Animoji characters. There are 12: monkey, robot, cat, dog, alien, fox, craps, pig, panda, rabbit, chicken and unicorn. Touch one and replace the current face displayed in the main Animoji area.
Expand for a full-screen view
By default, Animoji works in the lower third of the screen below your conversations. To switch to full-screen mode, tap the expansion arrow at the top of the Animoji box, just below the text entry box. The screen is filled with 12 Animoji symbols as well as a larger stage for the currently selected Animoji.
Hold your phone and ask
Once you start the Animoji app, make sure you hold your phone so the front camera can see your face. Then you can pose and see your facial expressions in the animated character on the screen.
Apple has done a remarkable job by depicting different facial expressions in different parts of the characters so you can find the expression that will give you something different to reflect from your character Animoji. (For example, if you puff your cheeks while selecting the robot, your ears will shoot out of your head).
Record a 10-second video message
The most common way to share an animoji is to record a 10-second video message. To begin recording, touch the red dot in the lower left corner of the Animoji window. You will see a countdown that starts in 10 seconds. You can press the button again to stop recording if it ends 10 seconds later.
Once you're done, you will immediately see your animoji message playing. If you hate it, tap the trash icon on the right side of the screen. If you want to see it again, tap the play icon. If you want to send the message to the person you are talking to, tap the blue shipping icon. (People without iMessage receive a link to a video file).
Change the animoji you used after shooting
If you like the shot you made, but want to try it with other Animoji characters, you can do it. After recording, just select another character in the left menu and the video will play with the face of the new character.
Send a sticker
Videos are not the only way to share Animoji. Each Animoji face can be a freeze frame that you can send to a friend. To send a still image, simply touch the face of Animoji on the screen when you ask for it, and that image will be included in your message. You can also touch and drag your face out of the Animoji window and paste it into the conversation as a sticker.
Save your Animoji videos for later.
If you find one of your videos particularly funny or want to use it elsewhere, you can save it as a video file. Just hold down the Animoji video until a menu pops up, then tap Save. The video will be added to your movie so it syncs with all your devices and is available everywhere
