It Looks Like There Won't Be a Galaxy S10

After announcing the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 +, Samsung appears ready to consider other naming ideas for future phones.

Speaking to reporters at the Investor on Monday (February 26) at the Mobile World Congress, Sam's head, DJ Koh, said his company is seriously considering giving up Galaxy S for Samsung's flagship brand next year. This suggests that Samsung will not be showcasing a Galaxy S10 at Mobile World Congress next year and instead announcing a device with a new name.

It is said that Samsung has long considered the way their phones are named. With the addition of a Galaxy S9 this year, after Apple already offers an iPhone X, some who may not know better could ask if the Samsung smartphone is a predecessor model.

Koh told reporters SamMobile that Samsung analyzed whether it should eliminate the Galaxy S and the number or just one of these elements.

However, it is unclear what exactly Samsung might call the device. It is said that the company plans to use the Galaxy X brand, although this name has also been associated with a foldable smartphone on which it works. It is also possible, based on what Koh said, that Samsung can simply drop the S or the number and use what is left.

The news comes after Samsung has announced the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 +. The phones, which hit stores on March 16, are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and feature curved screens and outdated cameras to enhance recording. Samsung's smartphones will be available in the four major US carriers. UU. And you can unlock it too.
