Mario Kart Coming to Phones: What We Know So Far

The Nintendo Switch is booming, but Mario is once again the leap to the phone
Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour will be the first entry in the long-running racing game in the world of smartphone applications, in a tweet that triggers the new title.

In particular, the Tweet notes that Tour is a "new mobile application" that is currently under development, indicating that it will follow the traditional Nintendo smartphone launch model on iOS and Android, and possibly the latest version before the last one will be published. Nintendo is giving the game a wide window for the start of the "financial year ending in March 2019".

While that's all we know about this game, it's not too early to wonder how this game ends. For example, Super Mario Run looked like a traditional platform adventure, but its controls were more like an infinite runner, as you just typed on the screen to jump in different ways.

At least we hope Nintendo will find a way to enable online multiplayer, but compete with the ghosts that represent your friends' best moments more chance that Nintendo's online efforts will focus more on the Nintendo En Switch service can. Line, which has recently announced that it will launch in September.

This will be the fifth Nintendo Mobile Game after Animal Crossing. Pocket Camp, Heroes Fire Emblem, the above-mentioned Super Mario Run, and Miitomo (who recently announced that it will close in May is likely to have Nintendo working on other titles - her smartphone, including one based on the Legend series Zelda, rumors that he broke last year.
