Apple planning new Cheaper MacBook Air for launch this year

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI Securities, Apple plans to launch a new, more affordable 13-inch MacBook Air in the second quarter of 2018 to move MacBook shipments between 10% and 15% this year.

There is little information on what the new MacBook Air would offer users and what would distinguish it from Apple's MacBook Pro line. The rumor is that Apple is investigating the use of ARM-based core processors for future MacBooks, which would reduce Apple's dependence on Intel.
DigiTimes reported in January that Apple was preparing a new 13-inch MacBook Air, claiming that the General Interface Solution Provider (GIS) would increase the production of LCD controllers for the 2018 planned new model.

The MacBook Air in the US is currently running at $ 999 and it is estimated that Apple could reduce the cost of the machine to attract new customers looking for an upgrade to macOS.
