Apple AirPod Smokes, and Blows Up (Report)

A man in Florida says one of his Apple AirPods started smoking while training in a St. Petersburg gym.
Jason Colon did not really see his AirPod ignite because he took the device out of his ear and left it on gym equipment to get help. But when Columbus returned, the AirPod opened, and the carbon trails became parts of the gray plastic.

"I did not see it, but, I mean, it was already fried," Colón told local TV station WFLA TV.
WFLA turned to Apple after Christopher Columbus told his story. An Apple spokesman told the station that the company is investigating the situation.
This is the first time that AirPods appear in the titles of the explosions, which does not seem to be a common problem. During a search in the Apple Support Forum, two reports were produced on AirPods that were warmed or warmed after 30 minutes of use.

Personally, I had some AirPods for over a year and I used them every day without any battery problems. However, it is known that devices with lithium-ion batteries have exploded in the past.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is a great example: The company had to completely remove its flagship smartphone after the bursting of multiple devices. Apple AirPods have three lithium-ion batteries: one in each handset and another in case of a charge.
