The Apple iPhone team is very busy and could have a new phone ready in May.
According to a new DigiTimes report, Apple is working on a new iPhone SE, which could be known as iPhone SE 2. This device comes with a slightly refreshed design including a glass holder that would allow wireless charging, Digitimes said. However, to keep the price low, Apple will probably stop recognizing 3D on the phone.
Meanwhile, Apple may be working on a different mix of new iPhones over the course of the year rather than on those previously proposed by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to the report, Apple is working on two LCD-based iPhones, one of which has a 5.7 or 5.8-inch display and another a 6.0 to a 6.1-inch display. Two more phones, which are also in the works, are supplied with OLED displays and screens from 6 inches to 6.5 inches, the report said.
According to DigiTimes sources, Apple is seriously considering taking the course last year and staying with two LCD models and an OLED version. Apple is currently "leaning" on removing the 6.1-inch OLED iPhone from the mix and pasting it with a 6.5-inch OLED. It would be flanked by the two above-mentioned LCD models.
